Job Description:

Full Time 32 hours weekly

Day shift

The occupational therapist shall evaluate and treat patients; develop a treatment plan; and set goals for patients. Patient and family education is included in the treatment plan and goals. The OT will complete documentation according to applicable national and state regulations as well as hospital and departmental policies. The therapist will assist with the education of affiliating students, the department staff, hospital staff, and the community at large. The therapist will appropriately delegate to and supervise Occupational therapist assistants and technicians. The therapist will participate in departmental operational plan. The therapist must intervene appropriately and meet the needs of the patients with impaired mental abilities, vision, hearing, or mobility.

Essential Duties:
  • Completes appropriate functional evaluation including assessment of pain for various musculoskeletal/neurological conditions.
  • Reads / reviews past medical history / inpatient chart.
  • Plans treatment appropriately including input from patient and/or caregivers.•Schedules patients efficiently (outpatients)•Meets or exceeds productivity standards set by employer and director / assistant director. Provides services to improve functional independence and/or reduce pain such as:
  • Therapeutic procedures/exercises or activities to promote ROM, strength, coordination, balance, functional mobility (bed mobility and transfers), ADL training (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting,feeding, etc.), visual perceptual training, cognitive training, or splinting.
  • Appropriate selection of modalities or manual therapy techniques.
  • Provides ongoing assessment and advances/modifies treatment plan according to patient's response.
Requirements:
  • BS Degree from school of OT
  • Eligibility for Professional Registration or Certification
  • Current License by the Kentucky State Board of Occupational Therapy with NBCOT certification or temporary license and eligible for license along with NBCOT.
