NextGen Data Architecture
  • Key member of development team for RSLI's NextGen data architecture, which incorporates a cloud-based architecture inclusive of big data, RDBMS and analytics technologies
  • Leads in analysis and design of technical solutions that enhance NextGen Reporting and Analytics solutions
  • Advances development team knowledge in Reporting and Analytics technologies and approaches
  • Integrates seamlessly with implementation partner to complete conversion into new data architecture and add value through growth opportunities
  • Sets the standard for how Reporting and Analytics should be delivered for RSL inclusive of data quality, UX, development approach, interaction with users, self-service enablement and others
Lead Responsibilities
  • Becomes the owner of technical Reporting and Analytics solutions across the Data Program
  • Creates and support team members in creating estimates, including working with external vendors
  • Builds strong relationships with all key business area users throughout the enterprise
  • Provides technical support for internal and external team members within all Data work streams
Reporting and Analytics
  • Develops and support Reporting and Analytics products and processes within the semantic and reporting layers of Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC)
  • Extensive experience in operational BI reporting along with dashboards and visualizations
  • Become proficient in the underlying data warehouse data inclusive of dimensions, facts and reporting summary tables
  • Creates robust design through thorough analysis and understanding of user needs
  • Unit tests development to verify compliance with specifications and ensure data quality
  • Troubleshoots data issues from the data warehouse through the OAC reporting layer root cause
  • Effectively integrates and coordinates with data modelers, data engineers and BI analysts to provide complete end-to-end-solutions
  • Reports status regularly to management
Business Community Support
  • Be a key contributor to self-service enablement throughout the enterprise and help build a strong user community through our BI Center of Excellence
  • Consistently works with the user community to understand their prioritized needs
  • Support with technical and data knowledge to increase user adoption
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Related I.S. degree or equivalent experience in Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years directly related experience.
  • Oracle Analytics Cloud or similar (Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of Cloud development experience, preferably Oracle
  • Database Technologies (5+ years)
    • Oracle preferred
  • Other Languages
    • SQL (5+ years)
    • PL/SQL (3+ years)
  • Comprehensive understanding of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing processes and tools
  • Experience with data modeling within RDBMS, including the Kimball Design Methodology (star schemas, bridge tables, etc.)
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience
  • Insurance data experience
    • Group preferred over P&C, LIMRA
  • Financial data experience
    • General Ledger, Sub-ledger, Chart of Accounts
    • IFRS
  • Annuities data experience
  • Ability to Travel: Up to 10%
