Job Description

OBJECTIVE: To provide hands-on training and experience to a soon to be graduate in the accounting/finance field.

This intern will be responsible for the daily functions of multiple accounts including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, journal entries, bank reconciliations, account reconciliations and financial reports.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Other duties as assigned):

  • Individual will work with A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations and financial preparation.
  • Ability to execute accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Ability to critically think and solve problems with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to organize information
  • Basic understanding of the three major financial statements and how they fit together
  • Solid understanding of the general ledger structure and ability to reconcile various accounts
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and maintain effective relationships with various departments and customers
  • Ability to gather data, sort, analyze, draw conclusions and present
  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Data cleansing projects as assigned.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

Experience:
  • Must be working towards an accounting or finance degree with graduation within 6-18 months.
  • Must be fluent with Microsoft office and strong working knowledge of spreadsheet.


Work Environment: Office setting

Physical Requirements: Ability to sit at a desk and attend meetings of various lengths. Reliable transportation to and from work location with a valid driver's license.
