This includes the creation and development of a manufacturing technology roadmap for new and existing product technologies. For new technologies, he/she takes processes from the concept phase all the way to successful implementation. These activities are performed in line with company strategy, and in conformity to relevant standards. Successful candidates are hands on, self-motivated, quick learners, can work independently with little direction and able to make strong decisions. Able to effect change through influence with strong leadership and mentoring skills. They work well in a team environment and can meet deadlines. Responsibilities and Duties: Responsible for authoring, implementing, and reviewing standard work instructions and equipment involved in the manufacturing process. Evaluate equipment/product and implement recommendations for improvements in quality, efficiency, and throughput. Analyze/investigate run parameter data to investigate quality non-conformances. Support Maintenance team if needed during troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime. Evaluate and provide business case for new equipment acquisition for CAPEX projects. Project Manager and Lead Engineer in OPEX and CAPEX projects. Ensure Manufacturing Operators have the required/appropriate equipment tooling used in manufacturing. Responsible for the implementation of key elements of Lean, such as: standardized work instructions, line balancing, layout and work sequence (routing) optimization, training development matrix, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen/ 5S workouts, pull processes, TPM (total preventive maintenance), cell design and quick changeover/ batch-size optimization. Implement process improvements to achieve manufacturing excellence in areas such as process yield (e.g. First Pass Yield, Rolled Throughput Yield), cycle time reduction and productivity. Provide shop floor feedback on product design and manufacturability issues to Engineering and DFMs (e.g. through the use of Engineering Change Requests - ECR's) Review and sign-off on Engineering Change Orders that impact Inventory - including product life cycle issues, obsolescence, etc. Creates, implements, and monitors key performance indicators and metrics on manufacturing process capability and product quality. Monitoring and reducing process costs. Responsible to assist with investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for manufacturing quality issues.
