Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Arlington is conveniently located in Arlington Texas and is a psychiatric children's hospital providing inpatient programs for children and adolescents. The CTRS's responsibilities include the following:
  • Develop therapeutic recreational activities for children and adolescents appropriate for their age, physical and mental health needs.
  • Provide individual and group therapeutic recreational activities for children and adolescent inpatients.
  • Complete group and individual notes for the participants.
  • Conduct therapeutic recreational assessment for new admissions to the hospital, to ensure the appropriate activities are prescribed for them.
  • Assist in maintaining the therapeutic equipment for the hospital.
Qualified candidates for the CTRS position should have the following:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational, Art, Music, or Recreation therapy, humanities, social work or related therapeutic discipline, or a master's degree in Recreational Therapy.
  • Active certification as a CTRS required.
  • At least 1-year working experience in a behavioral health setting preferred but new graduates are welcome to apply
  • Previous working experience with children and/or adolescents preferred.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
Shift: Full-time with some evenings and weekends required
