The candidate must have a keen interest in leading our land acquisition efforts for student housing across the country. Responsibilities Identifying, researching, underwriting, investigating, qualifying, and managing the purchasing of land for student housing development Network with brokers, developers, engineers, planners, municipalities, and landowners for new acquisition opportunities Utilize GIS Software to source for opportunities with the potential for use Perform preliminary due diligence and underwriting to determine the viability of each deal Assist in negotiating terms and specifics of purchase and sale agreements Maintain updated land use plans and database Manage a pipeline of deals through completion Travel to sites throughout the US as needed, up to 50% of the time Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, or related field is preferred 5 years of experience in land acquisition required; Experience with student housing is required Experience with GIS software (geothinQ preferred) Experience with financial modeling is preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and GIS software Strong entrepreneurial mindset Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
