New Permanent Opportunity DeltaV Control Systems Engineer NES Fircroft is actively seeking a Control Systems Engineer with a strong background working with DeltaV for a permanent role with our client, an Automation & Engineering Firm, at their office in Alpharetta, Georgia This position will be supporting DeltaV Programming and configuration activities for our client's partners across Oil/Gas, Chemicals and Power Generation disciplines. Our client in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a Control Systems Engineer - DeltaV to be responsible for programming, system configuration, factory acceptance testing, and field start-up and commissioning activities, specifically for DeltaV system s, among others. Qualifications B.S. Engineering plus 5 years of applicable work experience, or combination of education and relevant work experience. Required: Strong platform experience and proficiency programming DeltaV Distributed Control Systems Strong proficiency with Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and OPC communications protocols Familiarity with ISA tagging conventions Solid grasp of control panels, panel wiring drawings, and field wiring diagrams: Strong understanding of P&IDs, to include: 1) Ability to support the development of new P&IDs; 2) Ability to review and assess existing P&IDs; 3) Ability to develop Instrument & I/O Lists from P&IDs Desirable: Platform experience and proficiency programming: 1) PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred); 2) HMIs (Inductive Automation Ignition, AVEVA/Wonderware System Platform, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, GE iFIX preferred); 3) Other (Omni Flow Computer, ROC, Load Metering Devices) Development of both operational and technical manuals, to include training guides, HMI manuals, and operating procedures Knowledgeable of Electrical Protection Relays Knowledgeable of Historian systems Knowledgeable of external notification systems (text, email, mobile app, etc.) Familiarity with DeviceNet and/or Profibus communications protocols Responsibilities: Participates in the development of logic diagrams, cause & effect matrices, and functional narratives Participates in the development and/or review of control panel design packages, field wiring diagrams, conduit & cable schedules, and associated E&I package deliverables Attends field verification and user requirements gathering walkdowns Develops DCS/PLC/HMI programming Executes factory acceptance testing Executes field start-up and commissioning, including support of troubleshooting activities Contributes to and participates in client training Provides best possible response after hours support for internal/external clients as required Works with applicable Senior Engineering Lead(s) and Project Manager(s) to ensure quality of deliverable, budget adherence, etc. Keeps Project Manager(s) informed of progress, issues, need for change order, etc. Travel /- 25% with willingness to travel via air Core Competencies: Safety: Applies safety policies; displays enthusiasm for safety; is proactive in safety matters; attends company safety meetings Accountability: Works required days; works required hours; follows company check-in check-out procedure Attitude: Exhibits a positive "can do" attitude; shows initiative; demonstrates dependability, commitment and involvement; accepts direction from qualified sources Teamwork: Interacts well with co-workers; displays a willingness to cooperate with team; assists team members; shows respect for all team members Knowledge: Applies the specific requirements of the job; displays the ability to perform the technical skills required by the job; knows and applies company policies Quantity and Quality of Work: Work performed meets or exceeds company standards of acceptability; has the ability to manage multiple tasks Problem Solving and Action: Analyzes problems and takes action based upon decisions made with good judgment Communication: Demonstrates ability to clearly, effectively, and respectfully communicate with clients and fellow coworkers; communications are timely and intelligent whether written or verbal Benefits: Competitive salary with a discretionary bonus potential Benefit Time Off (BTO) that can be used as paid vacation, sick time, holiday funding, or as cash-out.
