Customer Service Representative The Customer Service Representative provides prompt and courteous client service. This position opens and closes all types of accounts and assists customers with requests and other information regarding accounts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Greets clients coming into the branch and answers incoming phone calls. Delivers personalized customer service relating to questions and/or resolving basic technical problems on customer accounts, including address and PIN changes. Processes a variety of routine financial transactions including check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, credit card and loan payments, and balances cash drawers or vaults. Opens and maintains basic consumer checking and savings accounts and consumer credit cards. Qualifications: Attention to detail, including verbal and written instructions. Maintains confidentiality. Effectively uses tact and diplomacy as it relates to clients and co-workers. Working knowledge and use of a personal computer, Microsoft software programs, and 10 key. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Possess a clear understanding of the technical aspects and benefits of products and services offered to our clients. Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters First Interstate Bank corporate culture in all actions and words. Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate. Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function, knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Completes all required training and keeps up to date with procedural changes. Embraces First Interstate Bank Vision and Values. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Experience in a retail environment and/or cash handling experience preferred.
