Project Superintendent

We are searching for a Senior Superintendent for one of Arizona's top ranked construction enterprises in their Building Services division. Projects will be within Mission Critical, Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Retail, Industrial, Tilt and more. Our client is a growing company on the Top 400 ENR List, one of AZ Big Media's Most Admired Companies of 2023, and has an excellent culture and reputation.

SummaryThe Senior Superintendent oversees and directs activities of subcontractors, workers and/or crews concerned with the construction of buildings, structures, infrastructure or other construction projects in cooperation with the Project Manager to ensure they generate the profit objectives and meet customer expectations.
ResponsibilitiesTakes any and all reasonable actions to provide a safe work environmentEnforces safety procedures of client, Project Owner, and other regulatory agencyStudies contract documents (i.e. specifications, details, and plans) and estimates to establish work plans for construction of the projectDevelops project schedule in conjunction with General Superintendent and maintains this schedule with weekly updatesEnforces the Project ScheduleMaintains daily logbook, photographs, and documentation for progress, events, changes, and problems that occur on the projectMaintains field as-builts on a weekly basisHolds weekly project/safety meetings with owner and subcontractors, and prepares subcontractor-meeting minutesInspects work in progress to ensure that work conforms to specifications and that construction schedules are adhered toInitiates needed field correspondence and Requests for InformationImplements and enforces field policies and procedures as outlined in Field Operations ManualReports any activities or issues which may affect the Project to the General Superintendent and Project ManagerMonitors each trade to ensure that proper manpower is provided to conform to the Project ScheduleIn the event of changed conditions or items not included in the plans, specifications, contract documents or special provisions in writing, notifies both the General Superintendent and Project ManagerHolds Coordination Meetings between Subcontractors to ensure proper installation of MP&E tradesArranges any special meetings required during the ProjectEstablishes dust control plan and obtains Dust Control PermitInitiates and files Notice of Intent with Environmental Protection AgencyReviews Project for conformance to the Contract DocumentsCoordinates Project Set-upMaintains field files
QualificationsMinimum of 5 years’ as a commercial construction SuperintendentBachelor's degree in Construction Management; or acceptable combination of education and experienceStrong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and blueprint readingStrong problem solving, organization, and communication skillsDemonstrated leadership abilityExperience in working multiple discipline projectsExcellent computer skills in Microsoft Office
