As a Seasonal Event Lead, you will oversee the execution and flow of our Hunger Projects with various corporations, schools, congregations, and organizations across the United States. Serving as the onsite point of contact, the Seasonal Event Lead is responsible for ensuring a successful, engaging, and impactful event for our partners and volunteers. Day to day, you will have the opportunity to travel and lead our volunteer events varying in size and scope. The person in this role has oversight of event set up, load-in and load-out, event logistics, manages on-site event staff, and ensures our events are following schedule.
This position is a seasonal role beginning with extensive training through the months of July & August 2024, both in our Longwood, FL HQ location and out in the field. Our comprehensive training program will set you up for success to lead Hunger Projects around the country through the month of November 2024. You gain opportunities to lead groups of people, large and small & lead events and near and far. As scheduling allows, you will have opportunities to learn more about U.S. Hunger, it's mission, and the impact we are making in the world. As a Seasonal Event Lead with U.S. Hunger, YOU will help advance our mission of 'Feeding families today and uniting them to a healthier tomorrow.' Travel, lodging, and per diem compensation will be covered by U.S. Hunger
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Travel to and lead Hunger Projects
- Emcee the events which requires speaking in front of crowds (large and small)
- Guide volunteers, partners, and staff on best practices (verbally & through action)
- Connect with clients and ensure excellent customer service
- Face to face connection during, before, and after projects
- Ensure positive interactions between partners and USH
- Manage the Event Team, including staff and Key Volunteers, during projects and project-related travel
- Load and unload trucks and shipments at events

- Ensure food safety guidelines are adhered to by all staff and volunteers

- Coordinate the pickup of our food by our Meal Distribution partners upon completion of our Hunger Projects.
- Communicate with MD partner contacts
- Update information in our system to share pickup details.
- Communicate information about U. S. Hunger with all interested parties, including potential new partners and donors
- Report on effectiveness of each Hunger Projec
- Participate in team meetings and communications under the direction of the Event Manager
- This position may be up to 100% travel time. Unless an employee has been classified as a remote employee the expectation is that they will fly out of MCO.
