Petitti Family of Farms, headquartered in Perry, Ohio is a collection of farms owned by the Petitti family, including Willowbend Nursery, Ridge Manor Nursery, and Losely Nursery. The combined operation encompasses over 2,500 acres (2,000 acres of field production and 500 acres of container production) and ~300 associates at peak, all located in Lake County, Ohio. We are a rapidly growing company specializing in the sale of container, bare root, and balled-and-burlapped ("B&B") trees, shrubs, and perennials to garden centers, re-wholesalers, growers, and the landscape trade.

The Controller will be a member of the management team reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. The primary responsibilities will include overseeing and managing the financial reporting of the Company. The ideal candidate will have accounting experience, demonstrate a great attitude and teamwork, self-direction, the ability to take the steps to work through problems and strong communication and organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.

•Responsible for daily maintenance of banking functions including deposits and payments.
•Prepares/reviews the recording of transactions into the general ledger.
•Oversees AP and AR functions, including coding of invoices for entering into general ledger.
•Communicates with customers to request and arrange payment on an as-needed basis.
•Responsible for calculating & paying salesmen commissions on a monthly basis.
•Prepares/reviews monthly account reconciliations, bank reconciliation and other schedules.
•Manages monthly close.
•Prepares/reviews reporting package which includes income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, financial statement analysis and commentary.
•Prepares weekly/monthly sales, payroll, and other reports as requested by management.
•Works with inventory operations managers in developing improved control & processes.
•Documents procedures and streamlines processes when possible.
•Identifies internal control weaknesses and provides recommendations to management.
•Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers.
•Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
•A BS degree in Accounting or Business Administration and/or 5 or more years accounting experience.
•Experience with financial statements preparation and analysis, ad hoc reporting to support management decision making.
•Advanced proficiency in Excel and above average computer skills.
•Strong financial acumen, organizational skills and analytical skills.
•A background in cost accounting. Agricultural knowledge in the field is a plus.
•Experience with payroll processing and HR related employee records is a plus.
•Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Excellent organizational and time management skills.
•Ability to adapt to the fast-paced environment of the industry and be flexible and open to new ideas and changes.
•Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
