As a Project Manager with the Nidec Aerospace team, you will have the opportunity to apply and develop your expertise to launch production of electric propulsion systems for battery-powered aircraft that will enable the world to sustainably and efficiently get from point A to point B. Nidec Aerospace is a newly created Joint Venture between Nidec and Embraer which intends to take a leading role in the Electrification of Aircrafts. From ideation to production, you will work with a diverse and experienced team of design engineers to support aerospace industry leaders and spearhead technological advances in transport decarbonization. Job Description Nidec Aerospace is seeking a results-driven Project Manager to coordinate the launch of an electronic drive for aerospace applications. This role focuses on executing a defined project scope, meeting objectives, and delivering results within set timeframes and budgets. The Project Manager will work closely with internal teams and a sister manufacturing plant responsible for motor manufacturing and final assembly. This position requires strong project management expertise, technical understanding of manufacturing processes, and effective communication skills. The individual is responsible for: Project Planning and Scoping. Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, objectives, and desired outcomes. Align project deliverables with organizational priorities and customer requirements. Resource Allocation and Budget Management. Efficiently allocate resources, including labor, materials, and budgets, to meet project objectives. Monitor expenses to ensure cost-effective project execution. Risk Management and Mitigation. Identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate them during project execution. Monitor risk management plans and adjust as necessary to minimize project disruptions. Schedule Tracking and Milestone Achievement. Create and manage detailed project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all milestones. Track progress, address delays proactively, and adjust plans as required. Communication and Collaboration with Stakeholders. Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Foster collaboration across teams and coordinate activities between the manufacturing plant and the sister company. Maintain clear and consistent communication, providing regular updates on project progress and challenges. Quality Assurance and Compliance. Ensure compliance with industry quality standards such as AS9100 and ISO throughout the project lifecycle. Oversee quality assurance processes and address any non-conformance issues promptly. Customer Specification Review and Feedback. Review and interpret customer specifications, ensuring alignment with project objectives. Provide timely feedback to stakeholders and incorporate customer input into the project scope. Process Implementation and Improvement. Implement process changes as required to meet project objectives. Recommend and execute process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain quality standards. Project Documentation and Reporting. Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, risk logs, and reports. Provide detailed updates and post-project analysis to stakeholders and leadership. Qualifications and Experience Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field. Project Management Certified. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) are a plus. 5+ years of experience in project management within a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace or electronics. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards (AS9100, AS9110, AS9120 and AS6081, ISO9001:2015, ISO14001, ANSI/ESD S20.20-2021) and regulatory compliance. Knowledge of SMT, BE, Test, Assembly processes. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies. Strong leadership and team management skills. Spanish and English proficient. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
