Job Type: Contract (7-8 M+)

Job Responsibilities:

Support studies with the team according to protocol, including operation of various pieces of equipment.
Support clinical observations, diagnostics, and treatments on research animals through directives of the department veterinarians.
Learn and apply techniques and diagnostic procedures (e.g., PK, PK/PD, imaging, safety, anesthesia monitoring, surgical preparation, radiology, etc.) with minimal guidance.
Support animal care and monitoring during studies and clinical procedures.
Responsible for documentation of laboratory animal histories and in vivo study data, IACUC protocol awareness, animal handling with multiple species and study types, dosing, necropsy, blood collection, etc.
Use good data integrity practices and management tools.
Assure proper record keeping and timely entry into systems.
Contribute to effort tracking and metrics reports.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Comply with and demonstrate a thorough understanding of regulatory and safety guidelines (e.g., SOP's, R&D Safety Policies, etc.).
Make appropriate use of personal protective equipment and adhere to conduct that affords protection from work related hazards.
Attend or complete all required training.

Skills & Experience Required:

BS in biology, laboratory animal science, or AS in veterinary technology, or related field.
1-3 years of experience working with standard laboratory animals (such as rodents and nonhuman primates) and a working knowledge of experimental and diagnostic laboratory procedures and processes.
Experience and knowledge of anesthesia, associated equipment, and monitoring in common laboratory animal species.
Experience with radiolabeled materials for experimental procedures is preferred.
