Highland Electric Fleets is a comprehensive turnkey solutions provider that delivers electric school buses (EVSB) to school districts and third-party managed fleet providers (3PMs).
We offer a model involving financing, infrastructure, vehicle deployment, and maintenance in an easily digestible, economic format that enables EVSB acquisition at traditional diesel cost of ownership.

The Information Systems Architect will be responsible for the planning, coordination, development, and supervision of all activities related to the implementation and integration of software programs, applications, and third-party solutions to meet the business needs of Highland. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the
Information
Systems Architect will lead project teams to select, procure, implement, integrate, and upgrade systems, and will act as an advisor to leaders throughout the business on systems and integration solutions and best practices.
The
Information
Systems Architect will be tasked with evaluation and assessment of Highland’s current information system architecture, and will make recommendations for strategic additions, integrations, and/or replacement of current solutions. Working closely with leaders across the organization, the
Information
Systems Architect will guide the development and optimization of Highland’s technology infrastructure to support business objectives as the company continues to scale. This role will have the opportunity to build and develop a team as Highland grows and business needs dictate additional support.
Key Responsibilities
·
Own the evaluation, deployment, and management of Highland’s corporate information system architecture, develop an enterprise-wide system roadmap, and make decisions on current and future information systems that will support rapid growth and scalability
·
Lead project teams for company-wide information solutions initiatives, collaborating with a diverse set of stakeholders across Highland’s Commercial, Operations, People, Finance, and Legal teams
·
Oversee systems architecture, systems integration, data architecture and governance across all applications
·
Manage vendors, contractors, and external IT advisors to deliver business outcomes
·
In partnership with the Chief Operating Officer, manage the organization-wide IT budget, making recommendations on staffing, outsourcing, and purchasing of systems including making business cases for additional investments
Desired Qualifications
·
7-10+ years of experience in systems architecture/integration, data architecture, information systems, or related roles
·
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or other related field preferred
·
Extensive knowledge of systems architecture, integration architecture and data architecture standards, frameworks, and practices
·
Knowledge of modern tech stacks utilizing SaaS cloud applications
·
Significant experience working with APIs from CRM and ERP systems
·
Prior expertise with NetSuite ERP is strongly preferred
·
Interest in or experience with data governance and business analytics
·
Familiarity with BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) environments and mixed-platform corporate environments
·
Demonstrated success building, supporting, and developing remote teams
·
Self-motivated and able to operate autonomously
·
Willing to “wear multiple hats,” take a hands-on approach and operate with high energy and flexibility in a startup environment
·
Experience with information security and compliance is a bonus
