SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Receptionist supports Goodwill Industries of South Texas as the first point of contact for individuals visiting or calling the Goodwill Corporate Offices. The Receptionist is expected to be professional while upholding the core Goodwill values of Empowerment, Public Trust, Respect, Innovation, Quality, and Safety.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Greet visitors directing them to appropriate person or department. Inform other employees of visitors' arrivals or cancellations. Answer incoming telephone calls, forwarding or taking messages as appropriate. Check voicemail and return calls. Manage conference room calendar.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to include data entry, scanning, and filing documents as necessary. Log incoming/outgoing mail and affix appropriate postage. Process and sort interoffice mail.
  • Create employee badges and ensure their delivery to the appropriate location.
  • Update and publish All Staff Directory.
  • Prepare the Corporate Office for opening, such as turning on TV's and unlocking the front doors and then prepare for closing each day.
  • Maintain safe and clean reception area. Coordinate back up when absent.
  • Embrace the agency's core values in the spirit in which the agency operates at work and in the community. Contribute to the fulfillment of department and agency objectives and goals. Comply with all department and agency policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and six (6) months related experience in an office setting
  • Courteous, friendly, and professional telephone manners
  • Strong ability to speak clearly and deliver information effectively
  • Capable of dealing with diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Demonstrate the highest levels of customer service and discretion
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
