ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Controls Technician for our cultivation operations. The ideal candidate will be a skilled self-starter who finds satisfaction in identifying issues and seeing them through to resolution. The Controls Technician will be responsible for monitoring room performance for environments that are out of specification, submitting work orders, communicating issues to the cultivation manager, assigning severity levels and ensuring resolution. This job requires a candidate who is organized and effective at communicating with multiple levels of personnel. We are looking for experienced technicians who can work as a team to accomplish big picture goals.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor building management systems to ensure room environments are within desired specifications.
  • Submit work orders and track their progress.
  • Provide reports to the cultivation teams regarding total work orders submitted, pending work orders, average response times, and completed work orders.
  • Communicate out of spec. rooms with the facilities and cultivation teams to ensure awareness.
  • Monitor environments post-resolution to ensure equipment is functioning properly and rooms are within target ranges.
  • Follow up on submitted work orders through completion and notify teams of the resolution.
  • Schedule weekly meetings to communicate failed equipment trends, outstanding issues, and resolutions for common system outages.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma with completion of Trade School, Apprenticeship, or relevant Military Experience strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable communicating with all levels of personnel.
  • Organized with a high attention to detail.
  • Well versed in maintenance safety protocols including PPE and LOTO.
  • Ability to identify unsafe situations and work with team leads onsite to mitigate risks.
  • Strong communication skills: Verbal, Electronic, and Written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods of time, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stopping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks
  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily, able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection), and able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as; reading, viewing a computer terminal, visual inspection involving small parts/details. Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (Moderate noise)

ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, AA or Trade School certification in electronics or industrial electrical.
  • Must be at a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License or ability to obtain one.
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • 40+ hours weekly with flexible hours depending on department needs. Must be available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays

Salary will be commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency situation should arise.
