Position Summary This position reports to the Operations manager and ensures daily operations activities including our dispatchers and our drivers are doing their job and provides overall support and guidance to operations. The Supervisor coordinates with leadership in crafting short and longer-term strategies to ensure that operations run smoothly and, in a cost, effective manner. The Supervisor introduces and oversees systems and activities to maintain oversight of overall improvement in business processes; operational systems; productivity; and monitors metrics and indices reflecting performance. Essential Responsibilities Monitor, develop and coordinate a daily delivery plan utilizing equipment, manpower, and other resources to ensure that work assignments are completed on timely and as ordered.

Ensure necessary resources of labor, equipment and time are available to allow maximum productivity of operations staff.

Guarantee load quality, timelines, and work efficiency goals are met.

Ensure incoming phone calls from drivers and customers to dispatch are handled in a timely matter to mitigate issues and resolve problems.

Manages driver’s hour of services per FMCSA regulations and to minimize overtime while still maintaining established customer service and delivery metrics.

Communicate and implement company goals consistent with established company policies and procedures to the dispatch team.

Conducts performance reviews and staff meetings to assure employee satisfaction, constructive communication, increased knowledge and consistency of operations.

Maintain driver schedules, coordinating changes with dispatch as needed.

Partner with Safety to develop and maintain driver meetings.

Ensure timely and accurate data entry of all services performed.

Maintain and develop strong working relationship with Client management staff.

Ensure all Client orders are confirmed from system daily and communicate exceptions.

Develop and implement a training plan for dispatch staff.

Recruit qualified candidates as need for open positions within the operations.

Supervise and assign specific responsibilities to operation personnel, which includes route delivery, ensuring prompt and accurate delivery/pick-up of all services requests for customers and other transportation activities required by the company and customers.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications (2) years experience in transportation

(1) year of experience in transportation management

(1) year of dispatching experience

Bi-Lingual a plus

Strong organizational skills

Strong team building and interpersonal skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.

Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing information quickly.

Ability to keep tight deadlines.

Expectations Regular attendance and punctuality

Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice.

Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance.

Work Environment Normal Office Environment Exposure to outdoors in the heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions

Inside of company truck

Required to use protective equipment.

Willing to work after hours when needed.

Physical Efforts Generally not required, or up to 30 pounds occasionally, 0 pound frequently. Ability to sit for long periods of time frequently, stand/walk for long periods of time occasionally.
