VP of Strategic Marketing and Communications

The VP of Strategy, Marketing & Communications develops and executes strategic communication plans to achieve the goals and mission of Saint Francis Health System. The VP, Strategy, Marketing & Communications formulates and oversees all communication plans to both internal and external parties to ensure brand standard/image and reception of message are consistently maintained.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, or business related field required. Master's Degree preferred.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.
Work Experience: Minimum 8 years of related experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe products. Ability to develop relationships on behalf of the health system utilizing exemplary interpersonal skills. Advanced written and oral communication skills. Ability to translate strategic plans into action plans and output. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Works with other senior leadership to formulate communication plans that include methods of reaching the targeted audiences in order to achieve the goals and initiatives of the health system's strategic plan. Plans and oversees the writing and producing of print materials, media relations, marketing and advertising tactics in print, online and in other media outlets, develops employee newsletter and physician communication materials. Coordinates research to assess the community's perception of the health system's image within the local and regional market, adjusts strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions. Oversees the development and continued maintenance of relationships with media personnel, advises management of media strategy and recommends participation in key community events. Oversees major health system functions such as physician retreats, all-employee parties, and other events. Manages the department budget by analyzing and controlling expenditures to meet budgetary requirements. Directs fundraising activities for The Children's Hospital Foundation, works in identifying new donors and oversees donor relations, collaborates with the President of the Board in planning meetings and fundraising events.
Decision Making: Independent judgment in making decisions from many diversified alternatives that are subject to general review in final stages only.
Working Relationships: Direct Supervision of Staff. Prepares and gives performance evaluations. Works with internal and external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
