Job Functions:

Job Summary This position is recognized as an associate strategic buyer and is responsible primarily for the purchase goods and service for the company in an efficient and economical manner following established policies and procedures. Job Functions (Essential)
  1. Assists with processing purchasing award summaries and purchasing documents for suppliers directly related to production
  2. Assists with developing, evaluating, and managing supplier relationships to accomplish material cost, availability and inventory goals
  3. Assists with developing supplier cost / pricing information and benchmark the competition
  4. Assist with Troubleshooting/analyzing continuous/reoccurring quality problems and work with supplier to resolve them, in a commitment for continuous improvement
  5. Organize and facilitate product teams for problem solving, issue resolution
  6. Assists with maintaining supplier quality and delivery through assessment, evaluation and ongoing monitoring
  7. Assist with reviewing and analyzing MRP to procure purchased components to assure timely delivery of production line requirements
  8. Support engineering, sales and production by providing supplier delivery and open order data in order to assist in the most cost effective utilization of materials
  9. Assists with maintaining Part data and PO data with integrity
  10. Assist with resolving all pricing, invoicing and contract related issues with suppliers
  11. Work/Communicate with order management, sales, engineering, production, accounting, and quality department on any part related issues/questions
  12. Assists with maintaining inventory levels that allow efficient production while attaining inventory and cost savings goals
  13. Responsible for following safety and environmental procedures. Procedures can be found on our company intranet
  14. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
  15. Perform special projects as required

Qualifications:

Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)Required:
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Materials Management, Mechanical Engineering or Finance; or 4 years of experience in procurement, materials management, supplier cost analysis, supply chain management or low volume sourcing
  2. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently with others
  3. Good knowledge of purchasing policies, processes and procedures
  4. Good knowledge and ability to negotiate best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and SAP skills
  6. Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels within the organization, along with external contacts
  7. Ability to travel on a limited basis and learn commodity processes at supplier locations
  8. Experience handling confidential, sensitive matters with discretion
  9. Good financial/cost analysis skills and problem solving ability
  10. Self-starter with the ability to work independently and effectively with teams
  11. Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
