REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Manager SUPERVISES: Housekeepers, Porters, Laundry workers A review of this job description has excluded the marginal functions of this position. However, they will be required to follow any other job related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties requested by their supervisor. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain housekeeping work orders in Worxhubs M akes sure all housekeeping schedules are completed. Provides f eedback to the Manager on departmental issues, resident/staff concerns, and employees’ performance. Performs day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned. Makes sure all setups and take-downs are completed. Responds to any calls for housekeeping requests or emergencies. Assures assigned work areas are maintained in a safe and clean manner. To train staff on cleaning procedures and safe chemical handling. Assures established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained, as needed when performing housekeeping procedures. Reports all hazardous conditions or equipment to the Manager. Is aware of Presbyterian Homes Corporate Compliance policies including those having to do with confidentiality and security of information, and concern for the well-being of residents and patients. Demonstrates behaviors and completes work in a manner consistent with these policies. Adapts to changes in responsibilities in a positive manner, is receptive to new ways of completing tasks, and is flexible in carrying out assignments. EXPERIENCE: Three to five years of experience in housekeeping. Experience in a leadership role preferred. Advanced cleaning skills. Willingness to learn and share information and knowledge. Ability to speak and understand English. Good written and verbal communication skills. CONTACTS: Frequent contact with residents, staff, and visitors. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Climbing, stretching, pulling, lifting (50 lbs.), stretching, bending, and walking. Pushing housekeeping carts, vacuums, and other equipment. WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposure to potentially hazardous and toxic chemicals. Exposure to potentially hazardous waste, e.g., blood, body waste, and fluids. Exposure to unpleasant body waste odors.
