Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within the construction industry and possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification. This role will be crucial in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to support the company's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls.
  • Monitor project costs and perform job cost analysis.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate financial reporting on projects.
  • Prepare and file tax returns and ensure timely payments.
  • Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting principles.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate).
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
