*This position is based out of the Resource Center in Grand Forks, ND.

You'll focus on:

  • Prepares various monthly, quarterly, or annual financial reports or statements
  • Reconciles and oversees applicable John Deere accounts in the general ledger (John Deere statements, warranty, misc debits/credits, etc.)
  • Records routine or recurring transactions including complete goods sales, recurring entries, intercompany entries, or adjusting entries
  • Reviews complete goods purchase orders ensuring information is accurate prior to recording the sale, or works with sales team to help resolve issues
  • Oversees accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy of records and workflow is maintained
  • Reviews and verifies transactions to ensure proper classification/coding and makes necessary corrections and/or adjustments as needed to ensure general ledger accuracy
  • Examines accounting information, traces, and reconciles unusual variances or discrepancies
  • Assists with month-end and year-end closing processes including reconciliation of key accounts
  • Assists compiling necessary information for regulatory and external audits
  • Assist with compliance reporting to federal, state, and local agencies
  • Continually identify and help implement process improvements
  • Assists in evaluating and implementing new or modified accounting systems to provide complete and accurate reporting
  • Communicates with others in the organization to answer accounting questions or resolve issues
  • Assists other departments to understand the impact of processes on financial reporting and train department personnel when appropriate
  • May manage team members in the accounting department
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned or requested
What we are looking for:
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting/finance discipline required
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and fundamental financial reporting systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to manipulate data
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to use standard desktop applications
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
