Our client is currently seeking a Systems Engineer 3Work Location:
Colorado Springs, CO
Onsite/remote/hybrid: 100% onsite
Requested Security Clearance: Secret
Duration: 6 months, possible FTE opportunityBackground Experience
Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.
Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers.
Familiarity with network communication products including router, switches, firewalls, Domain Name Servers (DNS) and data encryption products.Technical Skills Required
Knowledge of network architecture, engineering, design, implementation, and testing. Understanding of network communication protocols and network routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP) and IP network troubleshooting.
Basic knowledge of network testing methodologies using routers, switches, and firewalls. Knowledge of TCP/IP behavior, network communications and routing protocols, network traffic analysis and troubleshooting experience. Considered experienced, but still a learner.
Candidate must meet minimum requirements of DOD 8570 IAT II certification with any of the following certifications (Security +, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP).Preferred Skills
The following are experiences that are positives / pluses for the candidate, but not required for filling the position.
If individual has any prior knowledge of the C2BMC networks or organization.
If candidate has knowledge, skill sets or experience using protocol analyzers/sniffers (e.g., Wireshark).
Experience in Network Management Systems (HP Network Node Manager or Solarwinds or NAS/SAN technologies (NetApp, or Gigastore).
Certifications in the industry vendor Juniper or Cisco a plusEducation / Experience:
Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
