Project Engineer Salt Lake City, Utah (Onsite) or (Hybrid) Position Summary Thales is looking for a Project Engineer to be responsible for all technical activities and customer interfaces during the offer and execution phases of a project. The Project Engineer will act as the lead technical interface with the internal or external customer regarding technical coordination, solution architecture, performance, and project phase issues. This position reports directly to the local Engineering Manager of the Thales NAS business segment. Key Areas of Responsibility Analyze technical parts of tenders with assistance from the engineering team and other experts. Define optimal solution configuration based on approved configurations and perform analysis and/or simulations with customer installation sites inputs. Provide customer and project documentation and associated configuration files according to customer site and contract requirements. Deliver technical specifications and contribute to the statement of work to suppliers for cost, schedule, and delivery commitments. Solve technical on-site issues in cooperation with the field engineering team, project manager, customer service, and other resources. Prepare and execute acceptance tests with the customer based on existing product tests and procedures. Contribute to training sessions for end users and customers, solve technical issues within warranty and service contracts, and restore systems under service contracts within contractual reaction times. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Systems, Electrical, or Software Engineering, or another technical field with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience, or Master’s degree with a minimum of 4+ years of relevant work experience. Experience in working collaboratively across multiple product development and specialist domain teams. Ability to work in a multinational and multicultural team. Good knowledge of standard Office tools, CAD, MS Visio, network technologies, and remote-control systems. Communication and negotiation skills to ensure equipment acceptance and support Thales product policy. Must be a U.S. Person as defined in applicable law. Special Position Requirements Travel: Anticipated to be less than 10% annually. Trips can be both domestic and international, less than 5 days in length, with international trips up to 7 days in length. This position will require successfully completing a post-offer background check. Qualified candidates with a criminal history will be considered and are not automatically disqualified, consistent with federal law, state law, and local ordinances.
