Depot Support Technician

Job Description The Depot Support Technician will be supporting company employees with daily activities as directed. Responsibilities include timely reporting to work as scheduled, maintaining raw materials inventory, making boxes, packing boxes, labeling boxes, transporting boxes for shipment, testing computer equipment, and factory resets of equipment (Windows and Mac). This position reports directly to the IT Infrastructure Manager. •Applying asset labels to equipment. •Maintaining asset tracking via database entries in Oomnitza. •Processing returned equipment via cleaning and testing. •Primary responsibility is maintaining equipment and shipping supplies. •Making boxes and packing for safe transport. •Shipping equipment to new employees. •Being present and available for Depot operations. •Follow standard Depot operating procedures, accurately packing and labeling boxes. •Creating shipping labels for computer equipment shipments •Become familiar with the New-Hire Kit process and preparation. •Other duties as assigned by the IT Infrastructure Manager.General Requirements: •Friendly presence and helpful attitude; good people skills and ability to work well with others. •Ability to utilize standard shipping tools and materials. •Good problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills. •Good oral and written communication skills. •Professional demeanor with previous customer service experience strongly desired. •Ability to work within a supervised environment. Operational: •Take ownership and responsibility of issues from start through to a successful resolution. •Escalate issues and involve experts wherever required to resolve issues as quickly as possible. •Provide accurate work in a challenging environment. •Develop a sound understanding of the New-Hire Kit process and Depot operations process. •Develop technical knowledge of all systems within the company. •Maintain adequate knowledge of operating systems and application software used to provide support. •Maintains and consistently demonstrates a general knowledge of shipping processes, practices, and procedures. •Familiarity with the Oomnitza asset database, Jira ticketing software, and FedEx portal.CORE COMPETENCIES: •Collaborating with People •Applying basic process knowledge • •Attendance and Punctuality •Strong organizational skills •Stickler for detail and accuracy •Achieving personal work goals and objectives •Working knowledge of using packing tools, tape-gun, tape, and packing materials.EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS •Exceptional written and oral communication skills. •Exceptional people skills, with a focus on listening and questioning skills •Provide support for shipping computers, monitors, and peripheral devices. •Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities, and support tools •Ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of shipping issues.QUALIFICATIONS: •1-2 years' work experience in the warehouse or an equivalent combination of experience, is required. •Hardware and software computer troubleshooting skills. •Ability to prioritize work based on department and production objectives. •Good written and verbal communication skills. •Ability to work and make decisions independently in a challenging environment. •Ability to consistently lift & manipulate up to 30 lbs.
