Overview:

The UI Designer will design digital experiences that help our members achieve their fitness, health, and wellness goals. Working under our UX Manager and closely with the Product Management team, the UI Designer will bring product requirements to life through their clean, intuitive, and functional designs. In this role, you will also work across the digital experience (web and app), keeping both the gym and home settings in mind. Collaborating with UX, Product Managers and Developers, the UI Designer will apply visual design best practices based on the goals, constraints, and context of the project.

Responsibilities:
  • Transform Product and UX requirements into thoughtfully designed experiences for both app and web. Deliver customer-centric designs (wireframes, low and high fidelity mock ups, and prototypes, dependent on the project) that accurately respond to the needs of prospects and members for all points in their user journey.
  • Apply and help to maintain our recently updated Master Design System, ensuring efficiency and consistency of visual design components and standards. Create and maintain Figma component libraries built for our scaling organization and teams.
  • Engage in competitor analysis and research best practices to bring that knowledge to all design projects. Practice an evidence-based design approach, and apply user insights and customer feedback as provided by UX Manager and Product Management to iterate on your designs.
  • As a member of the UX Design team, work closely with Product, Engineering, and key cross-functional stakeholders to ensure our digital products address user needs and meet business goals, all while being mindful of technical architecture and constraints.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Design, Communications, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum 3 years of mobile and web UI design experience
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite with a strong portfolio to demonstrate UI/visual design skills
  • Comfortable working across the full range of design activities, from research to conception to final design files and handoffs
  • Experience working in close collaboration with product management and technology teams to break down complex workflows and requirements
  • Experience collaborating with other designers and presenting your work
  • Comfortable explaining rationale for design choices, welcomes feedback, able to quickly align and move forward
  • Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with enough time for receiving feedback and implementing necessary changes
  • Demonstrated experience applying user-centered design principles. User Experience knowledge is not required, but willingness to grow in this area and learn UX principles and best practices will be required over time.
  • Demonstrates initiative, self-motivation, creative problem solving, and independence, with the ability to adapt and respond to changes and pivots as needed
  • Has a passion for designing and building digital products and services that users will love
  • Extremely detail-oriented, efficient, and organized with an exceptional ability to establish priorities and objectives
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills along with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Able to establish and maintain effective, collaborative work relationships with diverse individuals, internally and externally
