Role Overview

We are building a top talent engineering team to support Fashion Nova's next phase of growth. We have ambitious plans to build technology platforms that will help us scale the company significantly over the coming years.

We are looking for a Mobile Software Engineer with React Native experience interested in building performant mobile apps on both the iOS and Android platforms. You will be responsible for architecting and building these applications, as well as coordinating with the teams responsible for other layers of the product infrastructure. Building a product is a highly collaborative effort, and as such, a strong team player with a commitment to perfection is required.

Responsibilities
  • Build pixel-perfect, buttery smooth UIs across both mobile platforms.
  • Build reusable UI components for interfacing with our back-end platforms
  • Analyze and optimize UI and infrastructure application code for quality, efficiency, and performance.
  • Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with both platforms.
  • Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native.
  • Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.
  • Work closely with our product and design teams to build new and innovative application experiences for Android.
  • Reach out to the open source community to encourage and help implement mission-critical software fixes-React Native moves fast and often breaks things.
Role Requirements
  • 3+ years of React/React Native development experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design and unit testing techniques
  • Firm grasp of the JavaScript/TypeScript language and its nuances, including ES6+ syntax
  • Ability to write well-documented, clean Javascript code
  • Rock solid at working with third-party dependencies and debugging dependency conflicts
  • Familiarity with native build tools, like XCode, CocoaPods
  • Experience with automated testing suites, like Appium, Playwright and Jest
  • Experience with multithreading programming and mobile memory management
Bonus Skills:

Experience with Shopify APIs, GraphQL, Firebase, Swift, Kotlin, publishing to Apple App Store and/or Google Play Store, Sauce Labs, CI/CD pipeline
