HES Assistant TechnicianPosition Type: This is a full time, non-exempt (hourly) position eligible for overtime, plus performance-based commission. This position starts at $21 per hour, and will pay between $60k-$70k with on target earnings. High performers will earn more.
Job Summary:
The HES (Home Energy Specialist) Assistant Techs with conducting Energy Assessments, with main focus on blower door guided air sealing
Essential Functions:

- Conduct Blower Door Tests
- Set up blower doors properly
- Ensure homes are in safe conditions to run Blower Door tests
- Run blower door tests before and after sealing
- Air seal homes based on Blower Door diagnoses
- Thoroughly air seal homes based on blower door results
- Air seal attic top plates and penetrations
- Air seal basement rim joists and penetrations
- Weatherize doors and windows in conditioned space
- Documentation
- Document blower door readings properly
- Take photos of work being done in the home
- Provide lead technician with all required documentation
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Education & Experience:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable Transportation Required
- OSHA 10 and OSHA Confined Space Certification
- Energize CT HES program knowledge a plus.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong organization and time management skills.
- Outgoing, flexible, and personable demeanor.
- Requires proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
- Customer settings: This position is based in customer settings and will require work in and out of doors, including in attics, basements, small-confined spaces, and rooftops.
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, crawl, or kneel in confined spaces. The employee may be required to lift up to 60 pounds, and must be able to climb ladders, enter crawl spaces, stand on roofs, and move up and down stairs safely.
- This job will require travel in a personal or company-provided vehicle.
