Maintenance Reliability Engineer
Job Description
Assists operations and maintenance on day-to-day equipment malfunction troubleshooting by providing technical expertise and delivering engineered solutions. Manages smaller capital projects by providing technical expertise, managing costs/budgets, and delivering startup support within the accepted project schedule. Provides a tactical approach to repair, replace, or redesign equipment after equipment begins failing on the P-F curve. Displays ownership of the equipment reliability within an assigned plant area/unit, ensuring long-term performance, considering safety, environmental, and operational success. Conducts cost analysis, weighing the pros/cons of various options and the impact on plant operations. Participates in the development of design and installation specifications, along with commissioning plans for new equipment. Develops and leads continuous improvements for the Refining Departments Safety, Quality, and Throughput from routine analysis. Organizes and manages multiple projects and tasks to assure high quality and timely service to all internal and external customers. Assists in establishing and maintaining Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics and standards, maintaining data used in creating and updating KPI reports. Provides training on new equipment installations and ensures documentation (drawings, procedures, reference files, etc.) are updated based on equipment modifications or replacements. Plans and performs engineering research, design development, or manufacturing/process engineering assignments, including responsibility for major subsections of complex projects using general engineering practices influenced by the general theme of reducing downtime.
