MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The Sr. Manager, Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and application of US wide policies and programs including employee relations, compensation and benefits, employee development and training, organizational development, and compliance to meet the business objectives and customer requirements of the Immunocore field teams within the framework of Immunocore’s overall philosophy and policies, external laws and regulations.

Specifically, the Sr. Manager, HRBP will serve as a business advisor to the leadership/management team at our US sites working closely with the Global HR Operations team to ensure US wide policies are aligned with Global policies as applicable.

The role holder consults with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach. Participates in company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., salary review, stock renewal, workforce planning, and organizational change).

Assists senior management in the development of solutions through organizational development and cultural and process-oriented perspectives. May play a role in administering talent management and succession planning activity within client organization. Key skills and abilities include coaching, influencing, facilitation, presentation, communication, process development, analysis and problem solving.

This role will report to the Senior Director, HRBP

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides guidance, coaching and leadership to the relevant management teams • Supports development planning and team building • Works closely with the total rewards and talent acquisition team providing benchmarking, job evaluation, background checks, employee eligibility verifications • Responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to on-boarding, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. • Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management. • Works closely with payroll department and handles payroll queries related to the US based employees across multiple states as and when required • Provides input and guidance on benefits and participates in yearly renewals, coordinating open enrollment periods • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, this may include safety training, anti-harassment training, • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff. • Implements new hire orientation and leavers process as and when required • Conducts employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Experience & knowledge

• Requires a minimum of 8 years of related human resource experience, ideally in a biotech and Global Company • Knowledge of state and federal law • Experience in dealing with complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors • Experienced in dealing with key stakeholders of the business in a fast-paced environment • Experience of working with field-based employees • Experience of team building and people development
