Responsibilities:

Highlights of Responsibilities: ** This is a 2 month temporary full time position.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Prepare standard and recurring journal entries
  • Reconcile cash transactions on a daily basis, prepare cash receipt entries, and cash disbursement support
  • Prepare account reconciliations and follow up on any reconciling items, to include but not limited to understanding of cash, prepaids, accruals, contract access fees, lease accounting, and payroll accruals
  • Perform detailed analysis of GL accounts and trends documented in analytic files
  • Assist in gathering documentation to support tax reporting
  • Assists in gathering documentation for various auditors and requests by regulatory agencies
  • Understand and maintain accounting policy documents
  • Performs other accounting related duties as assigned by management


Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent related experience
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting related position in government contracting
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Self-starter with and solid communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA
  • Deltek Costpoint and/or Unanet
  • Understanding of government contract billing process
