What this job involves: The HSSE Regional Manager is responsible for providing expertise and leadership to drive world-class HSSE performance at client sites within the U.S. West Division. This role will support and advise JLL HSSE professionals and management teams assigned to client sites on workplace safety issues, evaluate potential hazardous situations and environmental impacts, participate in accident investigations, and site inspections, to ensure JLL is compliant with all statutory and Client requirements. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of proactive Health, Safety, Environmental programs with the goal towards a cultural transformation toward zero incidents and injuries.This position will review programs, policies, plans, metrics, and specifications to ensure that HSSE Compliance issues are addressed. The person who fills this role must be well versed and remain current on Federal, State and local regulatory requirements, and provide direction to Site Leadership Teams to ensure those requirements are met. The successful candidate will be capable of meeting consistent goals set by the Account HSSE Lead. Goals will be continuously stretched in pursuit of our safety and sustainability ambitions. The most important objective of this role will be ensuring that our employees and sub-contractors assigned to client sites within the U.S. West Division return home safely at the end of their workday. What your day-to-day will look like: Manage HSSE team members operating on the client account within the U.S. West Division. The west includes California- San Diego, Redwood City, and Brisbane; Phoenix, Arizona; and Seattle, Washington. Ideal candidate to be seated at one of the California sites. Foster a diverse and inclusive workplace. Strong people management skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team Proven track record of successfully managing and developing employees Clear understanding of HSSE Management Systems - leadership commitment, accountability, effective communication, auditing, and performance metrics Liaison with client organization to ensure that HSSE issues are identified and solutioned. Provide health, safety, industrial hygiene and environmental support and guidance / solutions to HSSE staff and facility personnel across the account to maintain a safe work environment consistent with company policy and state and federal regulations. Support workplace risk assessments, inspections, audits and investigations to ensure corrective & preventive actions reduce or eliminate reoccurrence. Develop and maintain HSSE programs and procedures as needed. Responsible for timely reporting of monthly/quarterly HSSE metrics and Service Level Agreement performance. Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data to recommend corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential hazards. Continually re-evaluates the current contractor safety programs and initiatives and analyze available metrics with the intent to proactively identify gaps and refine and enhance existing HSSE platform. Partner with JLL Site Teams and the Account HSSE Director to establish HSSE performance goals and review performance against those goals. Compile & provide HSSE performance data contributing to account-wide HSSE performance dashboard. Develops strong working relationships with Resident Service Provider Account Leadership and JLL Site Management. Maintain a collaborative partnership with client HSSE organization to continuously improve the Contractor Safety Program and to ensure that HSSE contractor safety problems are identified, and solutions coordinated. Location & Travel Requirements: The ideal candidate must be located in California preferably at one of these sites (San Diego, Redwood City, and Brisbane). Travel expectation is approximately 20% - 25% of the time. Work Schedule 1st Shift, Monday to Friday, with on call availability as needed. Desired or preferred experience and technical skills: Relevant HSSE experience in a similar environment (e.g. Property Services, Life Sciences Facilities Management, Laboratory Services, HSSE enforcement or consultancy). Experience with FDA a plus. Required Skills and Experience: Degree in safety management, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or relevant field with at least 5-10 year's professional level HSSE management experience. Excellent verbal, written communication, problem-solving, root cause analysis and report-writing skills Experience reporting, evaluating HSSE metrics to identify trends. Able to work on a fast-paced and rapidly changing work environment. Must have thorough knowledge of Federal, State, and Local HSSE laws and regulations. Ensure the delivery of HSSE training programs based on the JLL HSSE training model and which is compliant with all local requirements in the division. Success working with contractors/subcontractors supporting HSSE goals and objectives. Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills Ability to travel 20% or as needed and willingness to support sites outside of western region as needed. Experience with MS Office Suite of products. Thorough knowledge of JLL and client-based systems, or willingness to learn. Ability to work unsupervised and take positive action to resolve issues on own initiative. Ability to demonstrate initiative and show foresight in relation to existing and potential problems. Good organizational skills with the ability to balance competing demands and to meet deadlines.
