POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for ensuring plant level Continuous Improvement (CI) procedures and systems are implemented, followed, and sustained to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity objectives. Additionally, enter, track and analyze relevant data that supports CI initiatives and decision making. This position routinely interfaces with multiple departments to improve visibility to current state performance, apply structured problem solving, and help deliver CI training.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for and manages administration of Continuous Improvement procedures and systems, according to standards, within the department or functional area
Performs analysis and data entry tasks
Collects, organizes, monitors and distributes information related to Continuous Improvement procedures and systems
Supports the day-to-day operations of the department
May guide associates directly or may direct department supervisors who manage the associates
Provides day-to-day CI guidance, coaching and training to all associates consistent with the mission, vision, and core values of the company.
Works across functions to ensure collaboration for shared goals
Contributes to the development of CI procedures, systems and strategies.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in deploying and administering CI methodologies in daily operations that align with enterprise-wide CI strategy.
Assist with implementation and sustainment of CI Systems and standards that support daily operational performance, including but not limited to 5S, Color Standards, SQPC Boards and other Visual Management tools.
Conduct audits of CI systems and standards (ie 5S Audits) in collaboration with production and warehouse leadership.
Create and maintain CI databases including but not limited to Red Tag, Root Cause Failure Mode Analysis (RCFA), Quick Kaizens and Standard Kaizens.
Assist with updating and maintaining CI templates
Help to coordinate CI activities, recommendations, and accountability of issues identified for change or improvement.
Collect, log, and analyze data based on initiatives and project needs.
Promote the use of metrics and data to drive decision making and actions.
Assist leadership in the planning, development, coordination, support, and execution of high impact (immediate and long term) improvement cost reduction opportunities.
Serve as a change agent, supporting process improvement initiatives, implementing continuous improvement (lean manufacturing) practices, and process redesign activities/projects which will enable the organization to reach the next level of world class manufacturing.
Support cross-functional teams with time studies, problem solving activities, project work and corrective action tasks.
Ensure timely and effective communication of all CI projects across the Manufacturing/Quality/R&D/Engineering/Finance teams. Include impact of change, who is affected, and obtain feedback and buy-in.
Understand all safety policies and significant safety impact of job activities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or equivalent and 3-4 years of high-speed production/operational experience
A demonstrated understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles and other CI tools such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Just-In-Time, Root Cause Failure Analysis, Single Minute Exchange of Dies, Visual management, Kaizen, Kanban, Poke Yoke, Etc.
2-3 years of experience with Lean Manufacturing (World Class Manufacturing and/or Toyota Production System) preferred
Defines problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Strong facilitation and interpersonal communication
Demonstrated strength in oral and written communications and presentation skills
Skilled in MS Office Suite; Word, Power Point, Excel
Proven ability to coach, mentor, and energize team members
Communicates in a positive, timely, and accurate manner
Hands-On / self-motivated / self-directed
Proficiency in basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, units of measurement, whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, & percentages)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 30 pounds.
