Manual Machinist

PrideStaff is looking for a skilled Manual Machinist for one of their manufacturing clients in the Fort Myers Area. The Manual Machinist is responsible for operating and maintaining various types of manual machining equipment, such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and saws. This candidate will be working with different materials, including metal, plastic, and wood, to create precise parts and components according to specifications.

Pay Rate: $18 - $25/Hr. DOE
Location: Fort Myers, FL
Experience: 5 + Years


Manual Machinist Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a manual machinist or in a similar role

  • Proficiency in operating manual machining equipment, including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and saws

  • Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills

  • Knowledge of machining techniques and processes, including turning, milling, drilling, grinding, and sawing

  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges

  • Understanding of different materials and their machinability characteristics

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with tight tolerances

  • Basic understanding of mathematics and geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)

  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
