JOB SUMMARY Reporting to the Regulatory Compliance Manager, the Regulatory Analyst is responsible for the coordination, completion, and filing of government, state and federal, regulatory and compliance documents. They ensure the company is compliant with applicable regulations related to company operations and act as liaison between company and regulatory agencies. In addition, they stay abreast of regulatory issues and keep management informed on new or changing regulatory requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare and file required Federal and State regulatory permits related to Texas and/or New Mexico drilling, completions and workover projects Read and interpret technical drilling reports in order to submit accurate and timely regulatory permits Work closely with asset teams to determine project priorities, successfully obtain permits, and ensure post-spud compliance with all relevant regulations Communicate regularly with regulatory agencies, including the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the Texas Railroad Commission, on the status and accuracy of permits Assist in the investigation and resolution of regulatory issues in conjunction with field personnel, environmental, health & safety teams (EH&S), and external agencies Establish working relationships with engineering, geology, EH&S, field, and other internal customers to better meet business needs Track permit expiration dates, assist asset teams with emergency permitting, and modify permits to align with changing priorities Stay abreast of regulatory changes and effectively communicate the impact of these changes and any new requirements to the business This list represents the majority of the duties performed by the position, but is not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies. Job requirements SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Knowledge of state and federal rules and regulations, with an emphasis on Texas and/or New Mexico regulations Ability to read, research and comprehend regulatory issues related to oil and gas operations Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain effective relationships with various regulatory agencies and all levels of company staff and management Ability to read and interpret detailed drilling reports and understand oil and gas operations terminology Established proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel and Word Strong oral and written communication skills Must have strong time management and organizational skills Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task with attention to accuracy Must be team player that possess the ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced work environment EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree - Bachelor's Degree preferred; Combination of Education and/or Experience may be considered in lieu of degree YEARS OF EXPERIENCE 1-2 years - Regulatory focused experience within the oil and gas industry 3-5 years - Oil and gas industry experience preferred WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
