Staff Accountant

Sarasota, United States Segrera Associates Full time

We are working with a client in Sarasota, FL that is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their growing team. This role is onsite Monday - Thursday and remote on Fridays.

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:

- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

- Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data

- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes

- Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts

- Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances

- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts

- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements, such as SOX

- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits

- Support the preparation of tax returns and assist with tax planning strategies

Staff Accountant Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

- 2+ years of accounting experience

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
