MediLodge offers U.S. Department of Labor approved apprenticeship programs to prepare non-certified staff to become CNAs and mentor nurses along their clinical career path to become Unit Managers, Assistant Directors of Nursing, and Directors of Nursing.Healthcare and Specialty Benefits:Effective 2024 we are pleased to offer our full-time employees a variety of medical coverage options through Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield.Affordable Medical, Prescription Drug, Dental, and Vision insurance benefits through leading insurance providers to meet your healthcare needs and preferences for you and your family.We know your pet is family too Three Pet Insurance options available to choose from.We provide an intercompany Employee Benefits Concierge to assist you in navigating and maximizing your benefits, should you have any questions.Flexible pay options; get paid daily, weekly, or bi-weekly with pay advances through UKG WalletOffering a generous $10,000 sign on bonus for Full Time - Two Year Payout (Limited Time Availability)Company paid vacation days with rollover option and sick time.Employee Assistance ProgramExcellent career advancement opportunitiesTuition Reimbursement and Student Loan Repayment programsCompany Paid Life Insurance401K retirement programHealth Saving Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), and Dependent Care FSA.Unlimited Referral Bonuses and moreSummary:The Director of Nursing (DON) manages the facility nursing program with the goal of achieving and maintaining the highest quality of care possible.Qualifications:Education:Graduate of accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.Licenses/Certification:Valid RN license in the state employed.Valid CPR certification.Experience:Three years’ experience as a Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, or equivalent supervisory nursing experience.Job Functions:Plans and guides the professional development of nursing staff.Rounds on unit at least once daily and assures that all clinical protocols and nursing policies and procedures are followed.Develops and manages systems to assure clinical competencies and training needs.Performs general management functions such as interviewing, hiring, disciplining and evaluating employees.Plans and facilitates meetings and committees to address resident care issues.Review time sheets for accuracy before payroll.Participates in developing, implementing and evaluating programs that promote the recruitment, retention, development and continuing education of nursing staff members.Participates in Employee Recognition Program.Initiates studies to evaluate effectiveness of nursing services in relation to their objectives and costs.Develops and manages staffing schedular system and nurse on call system while ensuring adequate nursing staff are available based on facility/census requirements..Develops the department budget for approval, monitors expenses, and remains within budget.Investigate and resolve residents/family/employee concerns.Pro-actively addresses survey and/or standards of care issues.Collect data to compile reports in a timely manner, and to meet deadlines.Assure Pharmacy, dietary, physician consults are followed in timely manner.Assumes complete responsibilities for the Center in absence of Administrator.Performs other tasks as assigned.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Skilled in directing and motivating the workforce.Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization.Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.Ability to organize and prioritize.Knowledge of training techniques for clinical staff.
