Position SummaryThe FLV Capital & Micro Grant Manager is responsiblefor the administration of the Economic Empowerment's (EEC) "FLV Capital & Micro-Grant Fund" designed to provide access to capital funding, micro-lending, and micro-granting programs and services. This role involves overseeing the funding processing, evaluation, defining funding criteria, qualifications, and risk evaluations ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and working closely with applicants to ensure they receive the support they need. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of financial principles, experience in lending, and a commitment to the FLV mission and vision.Position Profile:The FLV Capital & Micro-Grant Fund Manageris a contractor position reporting to the Program Director of The Foundation of Little Village and works closely with our Executive Director, the Juntos Program Manager, and the Client Services Manager. Roles & Responsibilities: One-on-One Coaching: Work individually with entrepreneurs to understand their businesses, assess their needs, and coach them on becoming ready for capital investment.Capital Opportunities & Technical Assistance: Work individually with small businesses to evaluate the type of capital that is appropriate for their business goalsAssist with filling out paperwork or applications. Types of capital may include small business grants, development bonds, bank loans, and other financial tools.Provide enhanced financial literacy to understand what the money can be used for based on the requirements of the capital opportunityProvide financial counseling and support to applicants to ensure they can manage their loans effectively.Address applicants' concerns and resolve issues related to loan applications or repayments.Micro-LoansAdminister the in-house micro-loans including:Loan Portfolio Management & Development:Oversee and manage the organization's lending portfolio. Define and evaluate eligibility requirements.Monitor loan performance and manage risks associated with lending.Develop strategies to improve loan repayment rates and reduce delinquencies.Design and develop loan products that align with the organization's mission and target market.Define organizational policies, and understand the needs of the community and FLV goals to tailor loan programs as required.Manage reinvesting interest from Micro-loans into the FLV Capital & Micro-Grant Fund to help sustain the loan program.Loan Processing and Underwriting:Oversee the loan application, processing, and approval process.Ensure that loan underwriting is done in compliance with the organization's policies, mission, and regulatory requirements.Work with the credit committee(A) to approve or decline loan applications based on risk assessments.Micro-GrantsAssist "Juntos Avanzamos" Financial Instructor and FLV Director in evaluating and advising eligible graduates to maximize grant utilization and access greater capital opportunities.Qualifications:Spanish language fluency.Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.Professional certifications in finance or lending are a plus.Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in lending, banking, or financial services. In-depth knowledge of lending practices, credit risk assessment, and loan underwriting.Understanding of the regulatory environment for lending, especially within the nonprofit sector.Proven track record in managing loan portfolios and developing loan products.Strong analytical and financial skills, with the ability to assess credit risk and make informed lending decisions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.Strong interest in entrepreneurship and small business development.Excellent project management, organizational, and leadership skills.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.Experience working in the nonprofit sector or with social enterprises is highly desirableProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite, understanding of CRM tools and other relevant software applications.Familiarity with the social and economic challenges faced by the communities served by the nonprofit.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.Experience working in the nonprofit sector or with social enterprises is highly desirableProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite, understanding of CRM tools and other relevant software applications.Familiarity with the social and economic challenges faced by the communities served by the nonprofit.Community Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, local businesses, and other stakeholders to enhance program visibility and impact.Reporting & Deliverables Ensure all lending activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.Prepare and present regular reports on the lending portfolio to FLV's Director, Program Manager, and the FLV's Board.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all lending activities.Oversee the maintenance of accurate records and databases related to program participants, activities, and outcomes.Suggest and evaluate Financial Resources in FLV's "Referral and linkages System" to maintain relevant, up-to-date, and valuable resources.
