Laboratory Clerk

Actalent is hiring a Lab Clerk in Aurora, CO Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Lab Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will handle incoming and outgoing phone calls with clients, verify information, confirm orders, and update client sample specifications in the LIMS system. You will be responsible for registering and logging daily samples, verifying results data, adding new customers and machine compartments to the database, and completing manual data entry. You will ensure test data is complete and correct, sort daily customer reports, and assist in shipping samples and warranty letters. The lab processes 1,000 to 1,100 samples daily, and each lab clerk manages approximately 300-350 samples once fully trained.ResponsibilitiesHandle incoming and outgoing phone calls with clients to verify information and confirm ordersUpdate client sample specifications and changes in the LIMS systemRegister and log daily samples into the LIMS system via computerVerify results data and samples data matchAdd new customers and machine compartments to the databaseVerify customer address or machine ownershipComplete manual data entryEnsure test data is complete and correct for evaluationSort the lab's daily run of customer reports and feedback copies of sample reportsLog in Level II coolant samples and ship out for test workAssist in shipping out other samples for test workAssist in getting warranty letters outAssist in invoicing special sample servicesPerform various administrative tasks to support the labEssential SkillsHigh school diploma, associate's degree, or GEDExperience with sample login to a LIMS in a third-party analytical labClerical/administrative experience with some customer service experienceAbility to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and re-prioritize quicklyStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to communicate effectively and take direction wellProactive in asking questions if help is neededComputer proficiencyMechanical aptitude or interestAdditional Skills & QualificationsTeam-orientedAbility to follow SOPsUnderstanding of lab guidelines and client specificationsAbility to work in a deadline-driven, production environmentWillingness to learn and adaptStrong attention to detailAbility to take and apply constructive performance feedbackWork EnvironmentThe lab team consists of less than 10 people, working in a very industrial and repetitive lab environment. The dress code is casual; close-toe shoes, jeans, and t-shirts are acceptable, but you must be prepared for potential sample spills. The lab operates from Monday to Friday, 7am - 3:30pm, with a possible flexible schedule from 8am - 4:30pm. The lab manager values team engagement, cross-training, and career progression, with opportunities for promotion after approximately one year. The team works together to process 900-1,000 samples daily, re-prioritizing tasks to meet client deadlines and ensuring timely completion of work.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
