POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Salesforce Administrator is responsible for the direction and maintenance of our Salesforce database, which provides essential infrastructure support for our volunteer, donor, student, and research operations. This is a full-time position that reports to the Director of R&D.

The main organizational priorities for the Salesforce Administrator include:

1) Provide ongoing administration, support, and training on the Salesforce database system and related applications to continually improve and streamline the 826 Networks use of Salesforce; (50%)

2) Lead our organizational Salesforce strategy by developing system policies and procedures for the 826 Network and identify and/or develop new resources to further enhance and strengthen the database; (30%) and,

3) Support showcasing impact through the use of the existing database to better articulate, measure, and report out on impact. (20%)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design enduring, scalable, and codified systems and enhance existing systems that enable the continued development, integration, and successful use of our Salesforce database in alignment with 826 National strategic goals
  • Provide effective and timely communication to 826 Network staff customer service requests
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor protocols for accurate data entry, management and hygiene. Manage data syncs, regular data imports, and weekly data backups
  • Maintain and update detailed documentation of network-wide operating procedures and user guides
  • Be the go-to-expert on Salesforce platform including production of reports, dashboards and campaigns
  • Empower and educate 826 Network data managers at each chapter to support and enhance the implementation of the Salesforce platform at the local level
  • Install and maintain app integrations and updates and review and activate Salesforce release updates as needed
  • Attend conferences, classes, or participate in local user groups to identify best practices and further Salesforce/database admin proficiency
  • Primary liaison with our outsourced Salesforce consultants and Salesforce customer support
  • Support the 826 National team on operational projects as needed

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A flexible, creative, entrepreneurial spirit and a demonstrated passion for the mission, vision and values of 826 National
  • At least 2+ years of Salesforce administration experience, preferably using NPSP (Nonprofit Success Package) and/or experience and knowledge working with nonprofits that use Salesforce
  • Preferred but not required: proficiency with donation platforms (such as Classy), marketing platforms (such as MailChimp or Constant Contact), form builder/data collection platforms (such as FormAssembly), and data import tools (such as Apsona)
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • A solutions-based thinker, who approaches new ideas or challenges openly and positively
  • Experience working and communicating with diverse constituents, teams and colleagues and communicating technical information in terms that are easy for teammates to understand
  • Strong, organizational, analytical and project management skills
  • Ability to convene and motivate teams, staff members, and volunteers
  • Able to thrive under pressure, manage simultaneous projects, and balance the needs of varying levels of stakeholders
  • Able to take ownership and drive activities to completion independently
  • Bachelors degree or high school diploma

Position is open until filled. Final compensation is commensurate with experience.
