Primary Purpose of the Role

Under general direction of the HR Manager, the HR Generalist is responsible for the execution of the full-cycle recruitment process to include sourcing, interviewing and offer as well as the internal recruitment of hourly production staff. Will also provide general HR support where needed.

Essential Job Duties

  • Complies with appropriate personnel policies and practices/procedures for all recruitment related activities
  • Recommends and implements advertisements with local publishing companies addressing deadlines
  • Prepares human resource reports such as special employee notices, recruitments, ads, turnover, etc.
  • May represent the organization at local job fairs and maintains liaison relationship with human resource representatives
  • Responsible for initiating all paperwork and processing documents related to employment of applicants, maintaining files of recruitment activities, and record keeping of applicants not selected for employment
  • Walks prospective candidates through the operation to ensure better understanding of our business to candidates.
  • Interviews recent hires to determine indoctrination and acclamation to the job & reports findings to HR.
  • Receives and screens incoming calls and applicants to answer employment related questions
  • Receives and screens telephone calls; answers inquiries on job openings, application procedures.
  • Interviews applicants to determine interests, skills, strengths and weaknesses & extends offers of employment.
  • Creates position announcements through the internal posting process.
  • Ensures strict confidentiality of applicant, employee records. Interacts with management on status of open requisitions, filled positions and other recruiting initiatives.
  • Performs general HR support functions as needed and as instructed.
  • May participate in New Hire Orientations as a backup.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Intermediate/Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook Calendar is required
  • Strong communication and strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)- preferably Ceridian Dayforce
  • Knowledge of effective candidate sourcing or willingness to learn
  • Minimum Associate Degree in Business or Human Resources
  • Minimum 1 year of Experience working in a Recruiting/Talent Acquisition environment or a similar high volume/fast -paced atmosphere
