Job Description
Overview
Responsible for supporting purchasing, planning, manufacturing and engineering representatives through strategic procurement initiatives in the Pipeline Integrity business line.
Responsibilities
- Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.
- Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions.
- Works independently, requires minimal guidance.
- Conduct market research and benchmarking to identify and validate cost savings or improvement potential.
- Propose and recommend cost savings, value-engineering, or other improvement projects.
- Evaluate capabilities and performance of existing and potential future suppliers.
- Develop and maintain the necessary relationships to identify and support future sourcing opportunities.
- Respond to critical Supply Chain issues that impact availability, quality, delivery, or cost as they arise, supporting resolution and driving re-sourcing, if necessary.
- Lead certain negotiations independently.
- Implement sourcing strategies that improve lead times, quality and reduce costs.
- Monitor supplier's quality of material and comprehend how processes can be improved to yield qualified product.
- Monitor supplier performance and phase out poor performing suppliers in collaboration with the Purchasing.
- Assist and supporting purchasing responsibilities.
- Evaluate the most appropriate manufacturing methods, materials and suppliers for new product development and engineer-to-order products.
- Secure and expedite prototypes, raw materials and off-the-shelf components per project schedule.
- Work with design engineers and suppliers to provide solutions for new product development needs when requirements are not fully defined.
- Source new suppliers when existing supply base cannot meet requirements for new items in development.
- Write, negotiate and manage contracts as needed to ensure project timeline milestones are met, required scope of work is correctly executed, change order reuests are well managed and financial risks are appropriately addressed.
- Work with procument and/or internal productin taems to transition new parts form prototype phase to production phase
Accountabilities
- Assist in the development of Inline Inspection strategies and IP
- Develop effective relationships with key functional stakeholders
- Support adoption of the commercial and procurement "ways of working", policies and processes within central category teams
- Build constructive, collaborative relationships with colleagues
- Achieve all cost savings and product development lead time reduction targets and support KPI metrics reporting
- Evaluate competitive offers and present sourcing options that meet business requirements.
Experience
- Minimum related experience requirement: 8 years+
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or engineering.
- Data Analytics skills to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in technical script, excel, engineering drawings.
- Must have a strong knowledge of manufacturing, manufacturing terminology and industry codes/practices.
