Overview:

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, has an opening for an onsite continuous Human Resources Intern to join the Business Unit HR team, located in St. Petersburg, FL.

The Human Resources Intern opening is an on-the-job experience learning the functional side of Human Resources that includes benefits, compliance, compensation, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, reporting and how to use a Human Resources Information System.

Major Position Responsibilities:
  • Support the Talent Acquisition Partner for the full recruitment cycle which includes sourcing, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, presenting offers and performing pre-employment background checks
  • Update our internal databases with new employee information, including contact details and employment forms
  • Post, update, and remove job ads from job boards, careers pages and social networks
  • Prepare HR-related reports as needed
  • Assist with other HR activities, as needed
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be currently enrolled or accepted into a 2-4 year accredited college or university or have graduated in the last 6 months
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work well with a diverse employee population are essential
  • Must demonstrate organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, using discretion and independent judgement
  • Bi-lingual in English & Spanish preferred
