The candidate will provide nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with a range of health problems, from simple to complex. The essential responsibilities of this role include:- Assuming responsibility for an assigned group of patients.- Documenting patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; noting all changes in physician orders.- Assisting physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.- Obtaining and monitoring physiological data of patients, observing physiological manifestations, and intervening when necessary.- Administering medication as prescribed, and initiating, regulating, and monitoring intravenous infusions and blood products.- Delivering patient care competently.- Interacting with family and patient to share care plans during hospitalization and at discharge.- Informing patients and families of hospital procedures.- Making referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.- Delegating tasks to support staff.- Performing other duties as assigned. Additional Qualifications: - Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.- Strong verbal and written communication skills.- Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Education: - Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or higher) from a board-approved program.We prefer candidates with post-surgical or trauma/ortho experience.
