Job Overview The Executive Director of a Michelle P. Experience: Leadership experience in healthcare or social services organizations, particularly in fields related to Medicaid waivers, home care services, or community-based care. A background in managing healthcare programs or agencies that provide services to individuals with disabilities, the elderly, or other special needs populations. Experience with Medicaid waivers and understanding of how the Michelle P. Waiver operates, including compliance with federal and state regulations. 3. Knowledge of Regulatory Requirements: Strong knowledge of Medicaid, CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services), and state-specific regulations, particularly in Kentucky for a Michelle P. Waiver. Understanding of person-centered care, waiver service plans, and service delivery models under waiver programs. 4. Management and Leadership Skills: Proven leadership and management abilities, including staff supervision, financial oversight, and operational management. Experience in strategic planning, budget management, and program development. Ability to ensure compliance with all licensing and certification requirements for a waiver agency. 5. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, families, staff, regulatory bodies, and community partners. The ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and advocate for the needs of the individuals served by the agency. 6. Licensing and Certifications: Depending on the state, the Executive Director may need to hold specific healthcare administration licenses or certifications. Additional certifications in human services management or disability services management can be beneficial. 7. Crisis Management and Problem-Solving Abilities: Experience handling emergencies, risk management, and addressing client concerns effectively. This role demands a mix of healthcare, leadership, and compliance expertise to manage the operations of the agency and ensure high-quality care for clients.
