FINANCIAL ANALYST:

Responsibilities:

The Financial Analyst develops and distributes financial reports and analyses for assigned departments. The incumbent supports billing, customer service, and financial reporting processes related to contract revenue and expenses; ensures accurate financial processing using generally accepted accounting principles; and conducts analytical studies to assist collections policy development. In addition, this specialist monitors the collections, identifies issues and suggests cost savings and profit generating measures.

Conduct special studies to analyze complex financial actions and prepare recommendations for policy, procedure, control, areas for cost savings and profit generating measures or action including but not limited to:

Cost benefits analyses to determine profitability of process improvement and other collections initiatives.

Interpretation of financial policies, governmental legislation, accounting theory, or customer financial regulations.

Collect information to determine present and future collection performance.

Profit plans, operating records, and financial statements to identify issues.

Prepare study, report, and analyze in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, cash flow projections, and business forecasts.

Establish databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing plans and forecasts.

Coordinate with all departments to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, new business planning, trended future requirements, government requirements, and operating forecasts.

Research and prepare economic reports on subjects such as billings, receipts, rate of return, depreciation, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and impact of governmental requirements.

Assist in the development of the budget, planning, and other corporate financial requirements.

Perform other special projects and assignments as requested.

Qualifications:

Associates degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field of study.

1 3 years experience maintaining and creating spreadsheets of financial data relating to capital and operating budgets, cost variance statistics.

Must have knowledge of and experience in budgeting, spending, control and reporting.

Must be familiar with Accounting Software packages, preferably Oracle Financials and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

Must have analytical skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, usually under short deadlines.

Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to internal and external customers.

An Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree.
