Requirements:
  • Experience in administering and managing Linux systems at scale, including:
  • Expertise with networking design, implementation, and operations
  • Proficient knowledge of authentication and authorization technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of various infrastructure methodologies such as security, name services, and so on.

Education:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree and 12 years related experience.
  • Preferably a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering.

Qualifications:
  • Python or Go Programming
  • Agile & LEAN Principles and Practices
  • Software Development Lifecycle
  • CI/CD & Continuous Delivery
  • Managing Infrastructure at Scale
  • Deep understanding of building and managing infrastructure within Amazon Web Services
  • OWASP Principles and Practices
  • Experience working in a constrained, high security environment such as FedRAMP High, PCI, HIPAA, or Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Metrics, Monitoring, and Observability
  • Awareness of Cloud Native Computing Foundation Projects and Principles
  • Experience in Zero Trust Principles
  • GitLab
  • Experience implementing and using Terraform

Summary
LANL is undertaking a software delivery transformation initiative utilizing both modern cloud platforms and DevSecOps practices - using modern tooling. As a core part of the initiative, the Platform Team is responsible for providing software delivery as a service to developers across the institution.

Engineer with proven/documented experience in DevOps and/or Platform Engineering. The primary objective of this position is to help shape the platforms and modernize enterprise software delivery across LANL using zero-trust principles. Ideally, the successful candidate will have led or participated in a previous DevOps transformation to cloud or platform engineering.
