JOB TITLE: Interoperability Analyst II

JOB SUMMARY:As the Interoperability Analyst (HL7 & FHIR), you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining HL7 interfaces, ensuring accurate and efficient data transmission between healthcare applications and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, healthcare partners, and providers, to implement and optimize HL7 interfaces. Will provide technical and organizational support for the enterprise's Integration between core applications in the internal environment and partner environments, including the development of design and develop interfaces-the ability to travel onsite to configure Medical Device Interface such as Vital monitors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be a trusted advisor to senior leaders regarding clinical integration efforts, developing a solid understanding of the organization's integration needs.
  • Background in cloud-related technologies, including architecture fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of EHR systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals and stakeholders.
  • Have a bias for action, understanding the critical balance of speed and quality deliverables.
  • Monitor integration server performance and capacity against anticipated growth requirements.
  • Establish & maintain medical device interfaces to improve clinical efficiency and patient safety.
  • Establish & maintain ASC and Clinics Integrations.
  • This includes data transformations, master data mapping, filtering, and alerting.
  • Establish & maintain vendor integrations with systems with an established HIE.
  • Establish & maintain clinical imaging interfaces.
  • Lead projects as needed.
  • Perform quality and interoperability checks on data sets developed for internal and external reporting or use that support agency operations.
  • Perform root cause analyses of defects and other quality issues and provide recommendations for remediation.
  • Support for on-demand and time-sensitive information needs for decision-makers and analyses to meet the needs of the Agency.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent; Three to Five years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years' experience designing, building, and testing HL7 interfaces with EMR systems and healthcare integration engines (Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, Bridges, Corepoint, etc.)
  • Working experience with the following HL7 interfaces/messages: ADT, SIU, ORM, ORU, RDE, and MDM, with a good understanding of the principles of asynchronous information exchange interface.
  • Knowledge of HL7 messages. Configuration of HL7 interfaces. Rhapsody Certification is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data, including clinical data in proprietary and industry-standard formats.
  • Excellent documentation skills, including workflow documentation and diagrams. Strong understanding of Data formats and other Healthcare standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD, SNOMED, CPT, LOINC).
  • Experience working on projects involving API integration solutions between multiple systems Plus.
  • Fluent in XML, SQL, JavaScript, PowerShell, and Command Prompt Networking tools
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Proficient with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to promote the customer's experience.
  • Experience with clinical informatics rounds to optimize systems and achieve outcomes.
  • Ability to problem solve with good judgment and attention to detail.
  • Experience with using data to drive adoption and project outcomes.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks.
  • Professional delivery with skilled business acumen to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Has attained prior healthcare experience with hospitals, surgery centers, or physician offices.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
  • Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
  • Able to travel up to 50%.
