Responsibilities • Designs a complete and complex framework, system or product. • Defines processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. • Conceives system interfaces and business application prototypes. • Identifies, analyzes and resolves system design weaknesses. • Influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems. • Provides multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives. • Develop IO maps, interlock strategies, and identify component requirements for software developers. • Organizes and participates in design reviews of machine improvements and new designs, including FMEA and Fault Tree Analysis. • Manages design and drafting staff for electrical engineering projects, monitoring schedules and budgets. • Provides Subsystem design, documentation (schematics, wire run lists, and assembly drawings), and packaging of sub-assemblies. • Works with customers to formalize, design, and implement customer special designs. • Quotes engineering labor and material for marketing feasibility. • Identifies requirements and potential layout of PCBs for system-level design. • Works with High Vacuum components (roughing pumps, turbo pups, cryo pumps, and valving) and clean room procedures. • Works with High Voltage components and applications, including spark-hardening and special design considerations. • Works with Gas Handling systems (mass flow controllers and transducers) and exhaust system requirements. • Works with Pneumatic and cooling system components and controls. • Familiar with National Electric Code (NEC), ISO procedures, and Lockout/Tagout requirements. • Familiar with SEMI S2-0200, SEMI S8-0600, and CE certification.

Typical Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree; or Associate's Degree with 4 years of related experience; or 8 years of experience in lieu of degree. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.
