Job Description
PURPOSE OF POSITION
To have a service line that align with expectations for the institution and ensure compliance with various programs and services administratively.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Inpatient Care Units - Labor and Birthing Pediatrics, L&B Triage, Nursery, Mother Baby Unit, and OB.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the day to day operations under Maternal Child Health services, to oversee clerical coverage for all tours and all units. Work on Quality Improvement projects and oversee projects in Maternal Child Health. Supervise and ensure compliance with NYS DOH newborn metabolic screening program. Will plan, direct, supervise, coordinate, and review work of subordinate administrative personnel relating to assigned tasks and projects. Provides administrative supervision and support to Managers of direct responsibility. Collects and analyzes data for administrative and fiscal reports, budgets preparations and operational and related support services. Participates in various work groups and committees, including but not limited to Patient Experience, Environment of Care, Quality Safety, etc. Facilitates team meetings as necessary and attends management staff meetings, conferences and consults with Medical and Support Services departments. Assist in preparing operating plans and drafts of plans, policies, programs and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Engineering, Health Care Specialization, Physical or Social Sciences or a related discipline; and five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative, managerial and/or consultative experience; or
2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in "1" above; and six (6) years of progressively responsible administrative, managerial and/or consultative experience; or
3. Satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and/or experience. However, all candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in disciplines, as listed in "1" above.
